Did Google change something with POP validation? Are they now making passwords expire? Has Thunderbird finally flipped its lid? I'll admit, I'm still using TB2, but I haven't changed anything in the last two days, not even restarting. Given that I have TB set to check for new mail every 5 minutes, this is becoming exceptionally annoying. I know the password is still valid because I can log into webmail just fine. When you change a password using Thunderbird you're merely changing Thunderbird's copy of the password. When it does that you can check the checkbox to save the password using the password manager if you want Thunderbird to remember the password. When I then manually initiate a check, it requires that I enter the existing password, and sometimes it says the password isn't accepted. Thunderbird will prompt for a password the first time it needs one. If I cancel the prompt, it doesn't do anything, including not connecting to the server for the mail check. If I submit the existing password, sometimes it continues happily on and other times it brings up the same prompt again. To retrieve your emails, click on Inbox in the navigation bar on the left. Thunderbird keeps prompting me to enter a new password every time it tries to check for new mail. To configure your account for the IONOS email servers, enter/select the following settings: Make sure your full email address has been entered in the Username fields and click Done.

I've had something vaguely similar happening to me for about a day now.
